Orange County singer-songwriter Matt Costa has released the tune “Slow,” the latest from his brand new album “Yellow Coat,” due out on Friday, September 11th on Dangerbird Records.
The music video for “Slow” was directed Minh Pham and produced by Pham and Costa. Their visual interpretation brilliantly draws you in to the mood of the song (IMHO). Check it out for yourself and see if you agree.
“Yellow Coat” is a album about heartbreak, perseverance and hope. It deals with Matt’s own heartbreak over the end of a relationship ,with inspiration from Van Gogh’s “Dear Theo” and John Steinbeck’s “A Life in Letters”, where the authors revealed intimate portrait of themselves via letters.
With everything that is going on in the world right now, the album should be easy for listeners to relate to. Costa hopes that the intimacy and honesty of the music resonates with his fans, “My songs have always been something that transcends a feeling into something that is healing.”
