In this interview, The SoCal Sound's program director Marc "Mookie" Kaczor catches up with Florida native folk artist Michael McArthur. Michael talks to us about the meaning behind the lyrics of his new music and the symbolism within their corresponding music videos. He also reflects on his evolution as an artist and what role his upbringing played in his formative years.
When it comes to his previous music releases, Michael states that "A lot of the EP from the early days are no longer available anymore, so it's kind of like if you got it, you have it. Back in the day, if you bought an album and it was no longer for sale, that was it. But now, with Spotify and Apple music, things live forever, and I didn't necessarily want those things to live forever."
Michael McArthur’s sophomore full-length album, ‘Milky Stars’ is available on September 16, 2022.
