Ringo Starr Interview with Nic Harcourt
From Sunset Marquis Hollywood; Nic Harcourt interviews Ringo Star
Discussing the new EP “Crooked Boy” as well as upcoming tour dates
Ringo Starr is out with a new EP titled Crooked Boy, and sat down with Morning Show host Nic Harcourt to discuss the EP.
Written with songwriter hall of fame Linda Perry, it has been released on vinyl to coincide exclusively with Record Store Day. Ringo describes it as EP #5 in a set of EPs he has been releasing
Nic Harcourt reflected after the interview on a social media post: “My childhood was not pleasant, falling in love with music gave me something to hang on to, music saved me then, it still does. Somehow I found a career that gave me the opportunity to share my passion of exposing new music and I’ve helped break a lot of artists over the last 30 years, I still pinch myself that I got/get to do this.
Along the way I’ve met and had conversations with some of my childhood/young adult musical heroes, like McCartney, Bowie, Neil, Joni and now Ringo. When I go into the room to speak with these icons, I think about the friends I came of age with. I think about the times we would sit around kitchen tables, drinking tea and eating toast and listening to and talking about all the great music that was inspiring us. I think about the guys who picked up guitars and started writing songs, and I like to imagine that I’m taking them with me into the interview, that somehow I’m doing it for all of us.”
The SoCal Sound Interviews are filmed, edited, & photographed by Matt Blake, recorded and mixed by Tristan Dolce, executive produced by Marc "Mookie" Kaczor.
The Crooked Boy - EP was released on a limited-edition marble vinyl on Record Store Day, April 20, 2024, And will be released digitally this Friday, April 26.
