The Lemon Twigs Announce Sophomore Album, Share "If You Give Enough"

lemon twigs go to school

The Lemon Twigs blew us away two years ago on their debut album Do Hollywood with their orchestral psych-rock sound. The D'Addario brothers have released a few other tracks since then but will now release their second album Go To School on August 24th. This time around their album will be a rock opera similar to Tommy as they find inspiration from their experience in Broadway musicals. It tells the story of Shane, a Chimpanzee raised as a human "as he comes to terms with the obstacles of life." The brothers recorded and mixed the entire album from their Long Island home with a little help from Todd Rundgren and their mother Susan Hall to voice certain characters in the story.

Our first taste from the album called "If You Give Enough" sounds like they may have hit a home run. The sound is big and operatic with a gorgeous piano and string arrangement. Hard to believe they recorded such a big sound at home, but that's how incredible recording technology is these days. All signs point to the band taking a huge step forward with this album. They will be coming to Los Angeles to open for the Arctic Monkeys at the Hollywood Bowl on October 16th at 17th. Check out the first single below.
